BLACKHAWK CONSTRUCTION UPDATE At 8 a.m. on Wednesday (October 17) the intersection of Blackhawk and Wandering Trail will be opened. The intersections of Blackhawk and Edenvale, and Blackhawk and Whittier Oaks will be closed, as installation of water and storm sewer continues. FHS HOMECOMING PARADE STREET CLOSURES A portion of FM 518 (Friendswood Drive) will be closed on Thursday (October 18) at 6:20 p.m. for the Parade. Traffic on FM 518 between FM 2351 and Clearview Avenue will be rerouted. Northbound traffic on FM 518 at Clearview Avenue will be directed right onto Clearview Avenue, left on Quaker Drive, left on East Heritage Drive, and right on Pecan Drive to FM 2351. Southbound traffic on FM 518 at FM 2351 will be routed east or westbound on FM 2351. Traffic traveling westbound on FM 2351 can take a left on Sunset Drive to FM 528, then left to FM 518. Traffic eastbound on FM 2351 can take a right on Blackhawk Blvd. to FM 528, then right to FM 518. Streets intersecting FM 518 between FM 2351 and Clearview Avenue will have police officers, barricades, and traffic cones to help control traffic. The Homecoming Parade is expected to last 40 minutes.

BAY AREA MEDICATION TAKE BACK DAY Saturday, October 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participate by driving through a drop-off site, where law enforcement will take medications for proper off-site disposal. All unused or expired prescription or over-the-counter medications are accepted. No Sharps, please. The Friendswood Police Department location will be at Hope Lutheran Church, 1804 S.
